The BEAP Lab is part of the Institute of Evolutionary Biology (IBE), located in the Mediterranean Marine and Environmental Research Center (CMIMA) in Barcelona. This building is shared between IBE and two other institutes: the Institute for Marine Sciences (ICM) and the Marine Technology Unit (UTM), which are home to numerous researchers with whom we collaborate.
IBE is a joint institute between Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). IBE is also part of the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), a research hub hosting seven independent research institutes and shared scientific platforms and services.
We are part of the IBE Microbe Hub, a consortium of four groups dedicated to understanding microbial evolution and ecology, and its implications across the tree of life. The IBE Microbe Hub consists of: the Multicellgenome Lab, the Microbial Ecology and Evolution Lab, the Evolutionary Microbiology Group, and the BEAP Lab.
